An Opportunity for the Gospel
Good morning everyone, welcome to the strange new world of socially distant church! Today’s speaker is Matt Petley. Matt and his wife Laura and children Beth and Danny have been fellowshipping with us for several months now, and it’s great to have Matt share the Word with us. It’s just a shame that it coincides with the start of ‘online church’ due to the coronavirus crisis!
In the weeks to come we will try to make best use of online facilities for our services, so please bear with us for this. In the meantime, take the time to listen (and perhaps relisten) to messages, studying your Bible as you listen. We also need to stay in touch with one another as best we can, by phon and on the Whatsapp groups. Celebration Social is where you can just chat and share things and stay in touch, and Celebration Prayer where we can share our prayer requests and answers to prayer.
So here is Matt’s message. We pray you will be blessed as you listen. You can leave messages at the bottom of the page to encourage one another, should you wish to.
The Lord bless you,
Matthew 24:3-8: As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.
