Having a Firm Foundation

Posted on Updated on

WelcomeGood morning. This is now the sixth Sunday we have not been able to meet together as a church, and although we understand why, the whole lockdown experience can be a real strain at times. It is a national and indeed international crisis, with huge strains on health systems and economies, and what the world will look like after this period is open to conjecture. But on a personal level, God is our very present help in time of trouble, and so if, or more likely when, we feel the pressure of the trial, let us be encouraged to turn to Him afresh for encouragement and strength. Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Amen.

Today’s message comes from Jeff, below, but first here is a worship song to encourage us, recommended by Steve.

Alone with our Father

Welcome

Good morning and welcome. We continue to host our weekly messages online in lieu of being able to meet together. Hopefully we may see some movement on that next month (dv).

This week Rob is our speaker and his audio message is available below. First is another video link to YouTube, a worship song suggested by Ruth, Holy Overshadowing by Graham Kendrick.

God bless, Andy. Read the rest of this entry »

Jesus’ Burial and Resurrection

Posted on Updated on

Happy Resurrection Day! Jesus is alive! Amen.

We’re continuing to ‘meet’ online during this time of confinement. Let’s continue to lift one another up in prayer and by encouraging eachother with phone calls and messages on the socials. We continue to pray for our nation, that God will heal our land (2Chron.7:14) and that many will seek the Living God at this time. And we continue to pray for our Prime Minister, as well as the Government and our wonderful Queen.

Following our look at Jesus’ death last Wednesday in Jesus our Passover, below is my message looking at Jesus’ burial and resurrection. May the Lord bless us as we contemplate afresh the magnitude of Jesus’s resurrection! Andy.

Daniel 9 (part 3)

Posted on Updated on

Speaker: Dr Annang   Date 5th April 2020

Welcome

Welcome to our online ‘service’. Once again during this period of lockdown we are having to refrain from meeting together as we would normally do, but today we are blessed to have our dear friend Dr Annang minister the word for us. It is very much appreciated that he has been able to take the time to speak to us during what is no doubt a very pressured and difficult time for him.

It’s a message I have personally been very much looking forward to, the wonderful Seventy Weeks passage from Daniel 9. I’ve also included a worship video from Casting Crowns, a live version of At Calvary, which I trust will be a blessing also.

Finally from me, Wednesday evening this week sees the beginning of Passover, and I hope to be able to post a message on Christ our Passover Lamb then.

The Lord bless you,

Andy. Read the rest of this entry »

Are You Ready?

Speaker: Andy King    Date: 29 March 2020

Welcome

Good morning and welcome to our online message in place of today’s service. This week we saw the UK join other countries by going into lockdown in an effort to defeat the spread of the CV19 pandemic. We are living in strange but historic times. What is God saying in all this? Let’s look into His Word together.

An Opportunity for the Gospel

Posted on Updated on

Welcome

Good morning everyone, welcome to the strange new world of socially distant church! Today’s speaker is Matt Petley. Matt and his wife Laura and children Beth and Danny have been fellowshipping with us for several months now, and it’s great to have Matt share the Word with us. It’s just a shame that it coincides with the start of ‘online church’ due to the coronavirus crisis!

In the weeks to come we will try to make best use of online facilities for our services, so please bear with us for this. In the meantime, take the time to listen (and perhaps relisten) to messages, studying your Bible as you listen. We also need to stay in touch with one another as best we can, by phon and on the Whatsapp groups. Celebration Social is where you can just chat and share things and stay in touch, and Celebration Prayer where we can share our prayer requests and answers to prayer.

The Book of Esther (When Trouble Comes, part 2)

Speaker: Andy King    Date: 8th March 2020

Listen to Andy’s message here:

Hebrews 4:14-16     Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
