Massive Dust Storm Forms ‘Hand of God’ Over Israeli Border to ‘Protect Nation From ISIS — Just Like in Old Testament’
A very interesting article with the above title appeared on the website of Christian Today recently. A weather phenomenon occurred recently on the Golan Heights, on the border of Israel with Syria, that it’s claimed helped to quell an ISIS attack on Israel.
It does indeed bring to mind events in the Old Testament where the God of Israel physically intervened on behalf of Israel against her enemies. The story of the pillar of cloud by the Red Sea is quoted in the article, but I’m also reminded of the time when Hezekiah pleaded with God against the attacking Babylonians in Isaiah 37. There are other examples too. There’s also the story from 1973, when a group of Israeli soldiers were caught in a Syrian minefield, dramatised here.
This all remind us that God still does intervene in human affairs, and that His promises in Psalm 121 still stand.
“Behold, He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.”
Andy.
