Here are some brief and basic notes from this morning’s look at the case for Creation. The CD recording of both Glen and Steve’s testimonies, and the short message I brought, will be available next Sunday.
We declare God is the Creator!! Hebs.11:3, Psalm 8 & Psalm 19. All the beautiful portrayals of Creation (such as Blue Planet) should give glory to the Creator, instead they rob Him of His glory by attributing the wonders of creation to a false god, the god of evolution (evolution requires faith to believe it!). Evolution is not provable, it is only a theory, yet it is consistently presented as fact in the media. The Biblical description of history (Creation, the Flood) clearly provide an alternative, credible account for how things are as they are.
There are many resources available on a wide variety of subjects, such as the flood, dinosaurs, carbon dating, fossils, millions of years etc, on the Answers in Genesis website.
The truth regarding Creation is suppressed, whilst evolution is continually promoted. However, there are many amongst the scientific community who do not believe in evolution! Quoting from Faith Facts:
As evidenced by a wave of recent books on the subject, there is a growing uneasiness in the scientific community about the validity of Darwinian evolution. Many scientists and philosophers are taking a fresh look at evolution, and based on the latest evidence are raising huge questions. Indeed, a hard look at the scientific data accumulated since the time of Darwin in the late nineteenth century, is leading some observers to conclude the following: The evidence for Darwinian evolution is so fragmentary that it would not command any respect at all, if it were not for the fact that the evolutionists have agreed in advance to exclude all thought of intelligent design.
Here is a list of over 700 scientists who dissent from Darwinian Evolution, last updated in November 2016.
When asked about the end times Jesus warned His disciples to not be deceived. Mat.24:4. The theory of evolution is a deception that has robbed many of their faith because it completely undermines faith in the veracity of Bible truth in the minds of those who believe it. It completely conflicts with the Bible.
Yet Jesus said the Word of God (the Bible) is truth, John 17:17. There are multiple references throughout the Scriptures (as well as Genesis) to creation, and God being the Creator God. Here are just a few, taken from all parts of the Bible (Law, Writings, Prophets, Gospels & Letters):
Genesis chapters 1 – 11.
Job 9: 8-9: He alone spreads out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea; 9 He made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, And the chambers of the south;Psalm 115: 15 May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.
Psalm 146: 5-6: Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever,
Is.51: 12 “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? 13 And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth;
Mat.13: 34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, 35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the creation of the world.”
Mat.25: 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mark 10:6: 5 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’
John 17: 24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Roms 1: 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Romans 8: 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
Col.1 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
2Pet.3: Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us,[a] the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Rev 4: 11 “You are worthy, O Lord,To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
