Outreach in Grimsby

Last weekend saw the team from Living Waters Europe, based in Lincoln, come to Grimsby to share the good news of the Gospel in Grimsby town centre. Several of our congregation were able to support and be involved. Here is a selection of photo’s from the day.

Dr Clifford Hill

Posted on

Dr Clifford Hill of Issachar Ministries has recently written two articles published on Prophecy Today UK (linked below) on the subject of where the nation and the Church of England currently stand before God. As a result of the passing of laws that clearly conflict with Scripture, and the C of E’s moving away from Biblical truth, he shares his belief that as a nation we are in the same position as the nation of Judah was before God’s judgement of exile befell her.

Though Britain, and much of the West, has moved away from God and His standards for our society, yet there is hope that through repentance we can in future know God’s favour in our country.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Football shirt donations

Posted on Updated on

Earlier in the year we donated a number of football shirts for children in South Africa. This was organised through our friends at Carmel Assembly in Hadfield, Derbyshire. In the pictures you can see some of the children at the Hope Valley Farm School rather proudly displaying their newly acquired football shirts. Thanks to all who were able to give to this project. There is likely to be another trip later in the year, so we can hopefully contribute again. (Pictures shared with permission)

God in our midst

Posted on Updated on

This wonderful short video from Jesuslifetogether.com perfectly illustrates the vision I described on Sunday for our services. When we start our service we are not just singing through a list of songs, we come together to worship the Lord using the songs as vehicles to help us enter in to the presence of the Lord. Jesus said His Father is looking for us to worship Him in spirit and in truth, John 4:23.

The Timing of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection

Posted on

This is an article by David Soakell of Christian Friends of Israel.

img_2609When was Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) crucified and resurrected? Did He really die on Good Friday and come back to life on Easter Sunday?

These are questions I’ve pondered on for many years. Now before we go any further, I need to stress that for the majority of Christians, Easter Sunday (or Resurrection Sunday) is the day Christians celebrate, for genuine reasons, the resurrection of Jesus the Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) from the dead. The majority of Christians also spend time on the Good Friday time to ponder on and contemplate, often in silence, what the sacrifice of Jesus means to them. This, along with Easter Sunday, is a Holy Day for most Christians, and therefore it is not my desire or purpose to dishonour any Believer in the Lord Jesus who use Good Friday to reflect on the death of Jesus, and Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection. Answer to prayer: Britain refuses to sign Paris summit statement

Posted on

I’m pleased to be able to report the UK refused to be a signatory to the Paris summit statement issued yesterday, January 15th.

Whilst we all want peace in the Middle East, we know from the Bible peace will not come as a result of a conference of 70 nations which did not even include Israel, a one day conference which had at best questionable motives and timing.

Jesus, the reason for the season

This year Hanukkah and Christmas both occur at the same time. Hanukkah, which is described as the Feast of Dedication in John 10:22-23, and which Jesus celebrated, is fulfilled by the miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit of baby Jesus by Mary (Luke 1:26-56). And Christmas, of course is when we celebrate the Lord’s virgin birth.  However, in amongst all the commercialism and busy-ness of the season, it’s good for us to be reminded of who and what it’s all about. Here’s an extract from a Chuck Missler article to help us:

The Names of Jesus Christ

Names have great significance in the Bible. A name was not just the label that differentiated one person from another, but often described something about the person. The name Abraham is translated “Father of a multitude”, Jacob means “supplanter” and David “beloved”. The most important names in the Bible, however, describe God Himself. Through His names, God expresses the reality of who He is. God does not cloak His identity and distance Himself from His creation. Instead, we have a God who desires to be known:  Read the rest of this entry »

Massive Dust Storm Forms ‘Hand of God’ Over Israeli Border to ‘Protect Nation From ISIS — Just Like in Old Testament’

Posted on Updated on

A very interesting article with the above title appeared on the website of Christian Today recently. A weather phenomenon occurred recently on the Golan Heights, on the border of Israel with Syria, that it’s claimed helped to quell an ISIS attack on Israel.

It does indeed bring to mind events in the Old Testament where the God of Israel physically intervened on behalf of Israel against her enemies. The story of the pillar of cloud by the Red Sea is quoted in the article, but I’m also reminded of the time when Hezekiah pleaded with God against the attacking Babylonians in Isaiah 37. There are other examples too. There’s also the story from 1973, when a group of Israeli soldiers were caught in a Syrian minefield, dramatised here.

This all remind us that God still does intervene in human affairs, and that His promises in Psalm 121 still stand.

“Behold, He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.”

Andy.
