Outreach in Grimsby
Last weekend saw the team from Living Waters Europe, based in Lincoln, come to Grimsby to share the good news of the Gospel in Grimsby town centre. Several of our congregation were able to support and be involved. Here is a selection of photo’s from the day.
Football shirt donations
Earlier in the year we donated a number of football shirts for children in South Africa. This was organised through our friends at Carmel Assembly in Hadfield, Derbyshire. In the pictures you can see some of the children at the Hope Valley Farm School rather proudly displaying their newly acquired football shirts. Thanks to all who were able to give to this project. There is likely to be another trip later in the year, so we can hopefully contribute again. (Pictures shared with permission)
The Timing of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection

When was Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) crucified and resurrected? Did He really die on Good Friday and come back to life on Easter Sunday?
These are questions I’ve pondered on for many years. Now before we go any further, I need to stress that for the majority of Christians, Easter Sunday (or Resurrection Sunday) is the day Christians celebrate, for genuine reasons, the resurrection of Jesus the Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) from the dead. The majority of Christians also spend time on the Good Friday time to ponder on and contemplate, often in silence, what the sacrifice of Jesus means to them. This, along with Easter Sunday, is a Holy Day for most Christians, and therefore it is not my desire or purpose to dishonour any Believer in the Lord Jesus who use Good Friday to reflect on the death of Jesus, and Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection. Jesus, the reason for the season
This year Hanukkah and Christmas both occur at the same time. Hanukkah, which is described as the Feast of Dedication in John 10:22-23, and which Jesus celebrated, is fulfilled by the miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit of baby Jesus by Mary (Luke 1:26-56). And Christmas, of course is when we celebrate the Lord’s virgin birth. However, in amongst all the commercialism and busy-ness of the season, it’s good for us to be reminded of who and what it’s all about. Here’s an extract from a Chuck Missler article to help us:
The Names of Jesus Christ
Names have great significance in the Bible. A name was not just the label that differentiated one person from another, but often described something about the person. The name Abraham is translated “Father of a multitude”, Jacob means “supplanter” and David “beloved”. The most important names in the Bible, however, describe God Himself. Join us for our Carols Service
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the miraculous conception and birth of the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We will be singing a selection of traditional Christian carols, liberally sprinkled with Bible readings, and we’ll be taking a brief look at what the whole Christmas thing actually means for us in 2016.
As someone said this week, it sounds like a riot! Predictably not, but it will be a great time and we’d love to have you with us!
