The Power of Praise and Declaration

Welcome to the recording from yesterday’s service. We looked at David’s song of praise in Psalm 18. Before that are two praise songs from Robin Mark, Forever (Give thanks to the Lord) and I am Persuaded. Bless you.
Testimony and exhortation from Dennis, followed by The Power of Praise and Declaration, Andy King, 30 April 2023:
2Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Hebrews 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil
Psalm 18:1-6 I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.
4 The pangs of death surrounded me,
And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me;
The snares of death confronted me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.
Psalm 18: 28-34 For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
29 For by You I can run against a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall.
30 As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
31 For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God?
32 It is God who arms me with strength,
And makes my way perfect.
33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer,
And sets me on my high places.
34 He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
Psalm 18:46 The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock!
Let the God of my salvation be exalted.
Psalm 18:49 Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles,
And sing praises to Your name.

God in our midst
This wonderful short video from Jesuslifetogether.com perfectly illustrates the vision I described on Sunday for our services. When we start our service we are not just singing through a list of songs, we come together to worship the Lord using the songs as vehicles to help us enter in to the presence of the Lord. Jesus said His Father is looking for us to worship Him in spirit and in truth, John 4:23.

Revelation Song
This is a beautiful worship song we intend to introduce in the next few weeks. Written by Kari Jobe, in this video it’s sung by Charlotte Ritchie. Enjoy 🙂

Praise and Worship
Here are three videos of songs we are planning to teach in the congregation over the coming few weeks. The first, God my Rock, written by Paul Baloche and Brenton Brown, is based on Psalms 61 and 62 and is a declaration of Gods strength in our weakness (the song actually begins 5 minutes 42 seconds into the film).
