A perspective on the US Presidential election
To help us to pray into this very significant event next week, here is an insightful perspective on a difficult choice for Americans as they vote, but a choice which will obviously affect the rest of the world. It is written by Joel Rosenberg, a respected American author of a number of excellent end-times novels and founder of The Joshua Fund.

Feast of Tabernacles Celebration
We’re having our second celebration of the Biblical Feast of Tabernacles on Sunday 16th October at 6.30pm, and everyone is welcome!
Join with us in celebration as we reflect on how the Lord Jesus has already fulfilled this feast partly in His first coming, and how He will completely fulfill this feast at His second coming.
There will be praise and worship with our guest worship team of Ivan, Kristie & Emma and teaching from Andy King. There will of course be Hebraic dancing open for all to participate in, and plenty of nibbles, cakes and refreshments afterwards.
You can learn more about the Christian significance of the Feast of Tabernacles here, and about all three of the Biblical autumnal feasts (Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles) here.
God bless you.

Prophetic warning for Britain

With the approaching EU referendum, it’s important for us to pray into how the Lord would have us vote and to seek His face on this hugely important event. I came across the following prophecy on the Christian Friends of Israel website and also on The Truth of Judgement Day website. I quote from the latter sites introduction:
“These prophetic words are very timely with our EU referendum approaching! We are convinced we are in the last day and that God’s wrath is going to be poured out on an unbelieving and rebellious world – this is not scare tactics, only a sober reality. The EU could play a leading part in the end-time script and we need to determine whether we want to be part of a union that will almost certainly act against Israel. If/when this happens all member nations will be culpable for standing against God’s chosen land. Whatever your view on this prophecy, find out more about the EU and pray for God’s guidance with the future choices we will make.” Read the rest of this entry »

1984 and all that!
In 1984, the rock/pop band The Police won Grammy Awards for the song “Every Breath You take”. It’s a great song and is considered to be one of their best. It’s a song about intrusive, complete surveillance…”every breath you take, every move you make, I’ll be watching you.” How appropriate the awards were won in 1984. That’s the title of George Orwell’s classic book about a future totalitarian regime that knows and records everything you do and even what you think. “Nineteen Eighty-Four” is where we get now ubiquitous terms like Big Brother, the thought-police and newspeak from. Godly legacy
Sometimes I wake up with a deep and clear line of thinking going on in my subconscious. It’s funny what can trigger it off. Last week I was browsing on Twitter and came across a photo of an old friend of mine from our church youth days. He was pictured with his 6mth old grandson and in the caption he was called Grandad. It made me smile and brought back many happy memories of what was a truly superb youth group back in the late 70’s at the Full Gospel Church on Pasture St in Grimsby. Click here to continue reading…

An angel in Liverpool?
I’m taking you back to wartime Liverpool at the height of the Blitz, where street communities were close and everybody knew each other.
On one particular morning, a small dark complexioned stranger, never seen before, knocked on every door on the street warning the residents not to spend the coming evening and night at home. He was taken at his word by the whole street.
The next morning the residents returned to discover that the street had suffered a direct hit in the previous nights bombing raid. However, the stranger who had given the warning was never seen again. Was he an angel? My family believes he was – they lived on that street.

Too many miles on the clock
If my body was a car this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got bumps and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little bit dull. But that’s not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus and it’s especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things, even in the best of weather.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed and my fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here’s the worst of it: Almost every time I sneeze or cough or splutter, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires! 🙂
Bett.
