Expectation and Wonder

Posted on

Good evening, here is the audio record of today’s baptismal service, with testimonies of faith from Andrew and Rebecca and from Bryan, and today’s message from Matt, looking at Luke 3.

Before that are two worship videos, Jesus the Nazarene by Robin Mark, and Yet Not I by Cityalight.

Baptismal testimonies from Andrew, Rebecca and Bryan:

Expectation and Wonder, Matt Petley, 24 April 2022:

Luke 3: The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. 16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Good evening. Below are the recordings from this morning’s service. Before that, here are two worship videos for us. Firstly, Come let us go up to Zion, Paul Wilbur, and secondly, Is He Worthy by Fellowship Worship.

Blessings, Andy.

(Lyrics to this song are posted at the foot of the page)

Here are todays recordings. Firstly, Keith brings some thoughts from a devotional he has been blessed with this week, then Andy brings today’s message (from 5.00 minutes onwards).

Esther 4:13-16 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, 16 “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”

Lyrics to Is He Worthy?:

Do you feel the world is broken? (We do)
Do you feel the shadows deepen? (We do)
But do you know that all the dark won’t stop the light from getting through? (We do)
Do you wish that you could see it all made new? (We do)

Is all creation groaning? (It is)
Is a new creation coming? (It is)
Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? (It is)
Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? (It is)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy of this? He is

Does the Father truly love us? (He does)
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus, our Messiah hold forever those He loves? (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does)

Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

From every people and tribe Every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God To reign with the Son

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this? He is!
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? He is! He is!
