Having a Firm Foundation
Good morning. This is now the sixth Sunday we have not been able to meet together as a church, and although we understand why, the whole lockdown experience can be a real strain at times. It is a national and indeed international crisis, with huge strains on health systems and economies, and what the world will look like after this period is open to conjecture. But on a personal level, God is our very present help in time of trouble, and so if, or more likely when, we feel the pressure of the trial, let us be encouraged to turn to Him afresh for encouragement and strength. Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Amen.
Today’s message comes from Jeff, below, but first here is a worship song to encourage us, recommended by Steve.
Blessings, Andy.
Having a Firm Foundation, Jeff Facer, 26April 2020:
Matthew 7:24-27
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
