More Like Jesus

Posted on

Welcome to 2022! Here is the recording from this morning’s service, we pray it will be a challenge and a blessing. Before that is a worship video from Robin Mark, Highly Exalted.

Here is today’s message: Andy King, 2nd January 2022:

Phil.2:5-11 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1Peter 2:19-25 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

22 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Who are you listening to?

Welcome to the audio recording of the message from today’s service, brought to us by John, continuing his series in 2 Chronicles. Before that is a worship video from Paul Wilbur, Let the Weight of your Glory Fall / I Enter the Holy of Holies. Every blessing.

Here is today’s message, Who are you listening to? by John Lavric, 5th December 2021:

2 Chronicles 21:1-7  Then Jehoshaphat rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David. And Jehoram his son succeeded him as king. Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariahu, Michael and Shephatiah. All these were sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and articles of value, as well as fortified cities in Judah, but he had given the kingdom to Jehoram because he was his firstborn son.

When Jehoram established himself firmly over his father’s kingdom, he put all his brothers to the sword along with some of the officials of Israel. Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He followed the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for he married a daughter of Ahab. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. Nevertheless, because of the covenant the Lord had made with David, the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David. He had promised to maintain a lamp for him and his descendants forever.

The Life and Times of Elijah and Elisha (part 2)

Posted on Updated on

Welcome to our recording of today’s message, part 2 in this series, subtitled Opportunities of Faith. We continue to pray for all still battling illness and infections, believing the Lord for His protection and His deliverance and healing! Amen! Before the recording is a praise video from Robin Mark, Forever He is Faithful, a classic from the Come Heal Our Land album.

We are trusting the Lord to be able to meet again next Sunday 7th November, but will confirm this later in the week.

May the Lord bless you.

Here is today’s message from Andy King:

(In today’s message I mention an article regarding Covid and the Great Shaking, entitled The Third Trumpet, which is a summary from intercessors and leaders of Issachar Ministries. I commend it for your consideration. They are discerning the way the Lord is leading in these days and their summary fits with our current focus and follows on from our recent article earlier this month, Reality Check Autumn 2021.)

1 Kings 17: 7-24

And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”

12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a [a]jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ”

15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.

17 Now it happened after these things that the son of the woman who owned the house became sick. And his sickness was so [b]serious that [c]there was no breath left in him. 18 So she said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?”

19 And he said to her, “Give me your son.” So he took him out of her arms and carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his own bed. 20 Then he cried out to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, have You also brought tragedy on the widow with whom I lodge, by killing her son?” 21 And he stretched himself out on the child three times, and cried out to the Lord and said, “O Lord my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.” 22 Then the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came back to him, and he revived.

23 And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. And Elijah said, “See, your son lives!”

24 Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is the truth.”

The Life and Times of Elijah and Elisha (part 1)

Posted on Updated on

Good morning and welcome to today’s ministry. Sadly we are not meeting together in person today due to the high numbers of infections prevalent, but God willing we will be meeting back together in person next Sunday morning.

Instead there follows a recorded message from Andy from 1Kings 17, and before that a worship video of Karen Davis’s beautiful song from Psalm 90, From Everlasting to Everlasting. May the Lord bless you!

The Life and Times of Elijah and Elisha (part 1) by Andy King

Psalm 90:1-2 Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

1Kings 17: 1-7 And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”

So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Where is your Focus?

Posted on

Welcome to the recording from today’s service. The message, brought by Matt, challenges us regarding the temporary nature of our lives on earth compared to the eternal citizenship in heaven we have as our hope in Jesus. Before that, there is a video of one of our songs from this morning’s service, Endless Hallulujah by Matt Redmond.

Here is the message: Where is your Focus? By Matt Petley

Philippians 3: 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Matthew 6:19  “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
