Lift Jesus Higher

Here are the recordings from today’s service. We heard from Jeremy & Jude Bass regarding the excellent work of Good News for Everyone, and in the Word we looked at the account of the bronze serpent and it’s relevance to Jesus’ work of salvation. Before that, as usual, a couple of praise and worship videos. Bless you.

Rooting for Success

Welcome to the recording from this morning’s service. We were very blessed to have guest speaker Charles Gardner with us speaking on the importance of us abiding in the vine, and of our relationship as wild branches to the natural branches of Israel.
Before the recording is a worship video from Maranatha Music on the Messianic Praise album, Planted by the Waters, with lyrics from Jeremiah 17:7-8.
Here is today’s message:
John 15: “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

How can we be more like Jesus? (Part 2)

Welcome to today’s recording, part 2 of the message started last week. We become more like Jesus when we spend time with Him and in His Word. We also look at the benefits of ‘abiding in Him and His Word in us’. Before the Word in the recording is a testimony from Chris.
But before all that are two worship videos, this week from Graham Kendrick and CityAlight.
Here is the recording from today’s service. Chris’s testimony is first, followed by the message at 8 minutes 30 seconds.
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

How can we be more like Jesus? (Part 1)

Welcome to today’s recording. Before today’s message here are two praise and worship video’s, the first a classic Robin Mark song Garments of Praise, and the second a modern hymn from Stuart Townend, O My Soul, Arise and Bless Your Maker.
Today’s message was brought by Andy: How can we be more like Jesus?
Colossians 3:
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
