Welcome

Good morning and welcome to our online message in place of today’s service. This week we saw the UK join other countries by going into lockdown in an effort to defeat the spread of the CV19 pandemic. We are living in strange but historic times. What is God saying in all this? Let’s look into His Word together.

An Opportunity for the Gospel

Posted on Updated on

Welcome

Good morning everyone, welcome to the strange new world of socially distant church! Today’s speaker is Matt Petley. Matt and his wife Laura and children Beth and Danny have been fellowshipping with us for several months now, and it’s great to have Matt share the Word with us. It’s just a shame that it coincides with the start of ‘online church’ due to the coronavirus crisis!

In the weeks to come we will try to make best use of online facilities for our services, so please bear with us for this. In the meantime, take the time to listen (and perhaps relisten) to messages, studying your Bible as you listen. We also need to stay in touch with one another as best we can, by phon and on the Whatsapp groups. Celebration Social is where you can just chat and share things and stay in touch, and Celebration Prayer where we can share our prayer requests and answers to prayer.

Hebrews 4:14-16     Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Galatians 3:15-29

Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. 16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Unity or Uniformity

Listen to Rob’s message here:

John 17:20-26

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

Daniel 9 (part 2)

Listen to Dr Annang’s continuing exposition from Daniel 9:4-19 here:

Daniel 9:4-19    And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land. O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day—to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You.
